Well my freshman year is now over and I can get on with summer vacation. I am very glad to be finished with 9th grade. I am so excited about getting started on my driver's license testing and being off from school for a while. My Mom and Dad are not too happy about the thought of me driving but I guess that's normal - if you could call them normal!!! lol
My parents and I always go on a few camping trips in our fifth wheel trailer during the summer. I love doing that so much!
Another upcoming event that I am not so excited about is having my wisdom teeth pulled. I am scheduled to have all four of them pulled in June. It will be nice to have that done though because they are really starting to bother me.
Well I know this is not a very long blog this time and it has been so long since I have made an entry but I wanted to check in to let everyone know that I have really enjoyed all the places we have been during 2009. It has been a busy singing schedule and everyone has been so good to us.
I am looking forward to being with my friends at the 4th of July Singing in Victoria. It is always so much fun! Please come see us and all of our friends at Templo Jerusalem Baptist Church starting at 1:00 on July 4th in Victoria. It is a great way to spend July 4th!
Well, I'm going to go for now and get on with SUMMER VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Feb. 7th, 2009
Hello again! It is only one more week until I turn 15!!!!! I am excited about being old enough to get my driving permit. My parents are not too excited about it but it is very exciting for me. As many of you know, my birthday is on Valentine's Day. I have a good friend that shares my birth date. Josh Bailey was born on Valentine's Day as well so Happy Birthday to you and me Josh!!!!
We had a great time being a part of the 2009 Rockport Gospel Music Festival once again. That is a great week end here in Rockport. We have so many groups in town and there are thousands that come during the three day event. We got to be a part of another three day festival at Salt Lake Baptist Church during the last week end in Jan. It is in a small country church but we had a blast being with everyone there as well.
We were asked sing for the Blanco Baptist Men's meeting at Bethel Baptist Church in Ingleside on Feb. 2nd. I felt a little funny being one of the only girls at that men's meeting but they were all so nice to me and we got to eat some great food as well. It was a fun night because my Grand Maw and Pa Paw were there (My Mom's and Aunt Pat's parents). They are members of Bethel Baptist Church.
I know this entry is rather short but I wanted to at least say "Hi" and let everyone know that we are doing well and I am looking forward to seeing some of you when we sing near you!

Merry Christmas everyone! I have had a great 2008 and I am looking forward to 2009. This past Christmas was filled with the Jubilee Concerts and I loved them once again. I love the Christmas season and Christmas music. The Jubilees are a chance for me to sing the Christmas music that I love and have fellowship with the other groups Song Of Glory and the Bailey Family. For the past few years the Bailey children have come to stay with us on the last week end of the Jubilees. We sung in Lagarto on the last Saturday and they all came to our house to spend the night and it was so much fun. We watched a movie called The Christmas Card for the second year in a row and we ordered pizza. It was a real fun night. The next morning we all got up to sing two more Jubilee concerts in Ingleside to wrap up the 8th year of Christmas Jubilees. I must say, I think the one at Lagarto Community Church was my favorite Jubilee this year. The church was packed and there seemed to be some Christmas magic there that night. Of course, I enjoyed everyone of the Jubilees and I am always a bit sad to see them come to an end each year. I wanted to let you know that I am so excited about my Christmas gift this from my parents. They gave me an ipod Touch and I love it. I have been listening to it all day and it is great. I am having to battle my Dad to get to use it because he is wanting to play with it also. I guess I will go for now but I wanted to say Merry Christmas to everyone and I will ttyl!!!!!

Hello everyone! I am finally getting around to making another entry in my blog page. It has been a very busy first couple of six weeks in high school for me. I don't know if I have mentioned this but even though I have lived in Rockport for my entire life, I attend Ingleside High School. That's because both of my parents teach there and that allows me the opportunity to go there. Our football team advanced to the play offs and I am sorry to say that we lost in the first round to Rio Hondo. They had a good team and a very good marching band. Marching band has kept me very busy for the past four months along with adjusting to being a freshman in high school. My Dad is a band director there and my Mom does the color guard so it is very much a family effort for us. Now it will be time to put up the marching shoes and get down to just playing my saxophone in the concert band. I love doing that most of all. I am deep into practicing for the all region band auditions coming up on Dec. 6th. I was fortunate to make the region band for both my years in Jr. High School and now I am going to see how I can do against the stiffer competition and more difficult music at the high school level.
My Dad and I got to do a couple of real fun things recently. First of all, we went to the Brad Paisley concert in Corpus Christi a couple of weeks ago and I loved it. He was so good live! The other fun thing was getting to drive to Austin last Saturday to see our favorite college football team - The Texas Longhorns! It was the first big-time college football game I have ever been to and it was truly exciting. My Dad graduated from UT and was in the Longhorn Band. He has told me for years how good that band is and how much he loved being in it and now I know why. They were wonderful! To top it all off the Longhorns won the game in a big way 45-21! It was a great day for us and I will never forget it.
Well, it's Christmas Jubilee time again. We have already had one rehearsal with the other groups and we are going to have another one tomorrow. Those times are so much fun. The Christmas Jubilees have come to be the main way that I celebrate Christmas. It always puts me into the Christmas spirit and I know this year will be no different. Please come see us at one of those concerts if we are near your area. Gotta go for now - ttyl

We just returned from a 2 week trip in our RV with my Hawes grandparents on my Dad's side. My other grandparents (The Grays) came up to join us for the last four days of the trip. We go to Medina Lake near San Antonio with them every summer. My Aunt Darlene and my cousins Shashie and Jacob joined us there also. We had such a good time swimming, riding bikes, eating, playing our guitars, and just being together. My Dad and I played our guitars every night and I finally started to get the hang of how to play. I know I have a long way to go but something "clicked" on this trip and I am starting to feel more comfortable playing my guitar and singing. My Dad and I slept under the stars for about four nights of the trip and that was so much fun. We looked at the stars and talked for about an hour each time before we finally gave in and went to sleep. That was a highlight for me. My Mom and my grandmother Gray got to shop in Bandera and go to some antique stores as well. That is always fun for me. It was a great trip as it always is. I look forward to this 2 week trip each summer as much as I look forward to anything all year and this time was just as wonderful as it always is.
When we returned Hurricane Dolly was out in the gulf starring at us in the face. She decided to go more toward the southern tip of Texas but Rockport got plenty of wind and rain from her. I don't think we had any damage from the hurricane but the weather was pretty exciting there for a while. I hope everyone down towards Brownsville is OK. We need to keep them on our prayers.

Hello everyone! It seems that I don't get in here very often to write but I do enjoy updating my blog when I get around to it. We just finished singing at the 4th of July singing in Victoria. We do that every year and it is always lots of fun. I took my friend Natalie Brown with us this year and we had lots of fun. It was a little strange not having my friends The Bailey Family there this year. They had a family reunion in Iowa and could not make it. We missed them! Natalie and I did get to visit with Caleb and Scott of the Telestials at dinner. It was good to get to know them better. They are both great guys and talented musicians. Everyone there is always so nice to me. I appreciate all the encouragement I get from everyone and I want to thank Mrs. Lola Felder because she is such a special encourager to me. I am thankful that she takes time to support those of us who are younger.
I am getting ready to go to Medina Lake on an RV trip with the Hawes family. It is a two week trip we take every year and it is soooo much fun. It is just about my favorite two weeks out of the whole year! So I am going to leave you now because I have to start getting ready for my trip. I hope everyone is having a great and safe summer. ttyl

Sorry I have not made an entry in a while. I am now on spring break and I am really enjoying the time off from school and sleeping late. I have had a busy past couple of weeks. Last Saturday we did the GospelGrass Festival at Rockport Beach. It was pretty cold when we first got there but it warmed up nicely as the day wore on. All of us got some redness on our faces from the sun. The Bailey kids stayed with us that night and we watched two movies and stayed up and talked until my mom made us go to bed. I had so much fun having them at our house and then the fun continued at Oysterfest the next day. We were there with The Song Of Glory and The Bailey Family and it was great. After the singing my dad and I rode rides with The Bailey kids at the carnival. We picked out the two scariest rides and rode them. It was a blast. I had a busy week at school after that and then on Friday Reunion went to a birthday party for Gay Freudenrich in Olivia. It was so much fun seeing her be so surprised when she walked in. She thought she was going there to sing for a revival service. Then on the following Saturday night and Sunday morning I sing in our church choir for the Easter Cantata. We had a cast of over 50 people doing the drama parts and it was very good. Both performances were an emotional experience helping us to remember why we celebrate Easter. Let's celebrate that Jesus did rise from the grave and He lives today so that He could pay the debt for our sins.

I am now 14 years old. My birthday was on Feb. 14th and it was a very good one for me. I got to take a trip with my mom and dad and they let me bring my friend Brianna Worster with us also. We went to a neat bed and breakfast on a llama ranch in the Texas Hill Country. It was very secluded and we got to pet and fed the llamas and a bunch of other animals there as well. We went to Wimberley and Austin to shop on Saturday and we ended the trip with a visit to the outlet malls in San Marcos. My dad really loved all the shopping. All in all is was a fun and memorable 14th birthday. I am looking forward to singing in Ingleside on Sunday Feb. 24th at Northbay Fellowship. We are going to see lots of friends there and it will be fun. My dad, Josh Bailey, and I are going to play a saxophone trio that we have been working on over the phone. We have never played it together in person before so maybe we will get a chance to go over it before we start. Speaking of Josh, he was also born on Valentine's Day so he and I both had a birthday on the 14th. I want to wish him a Happy Birthday also. I better go for now so I will talk to you later.

We really did enjoy getting to sing with the people at the Circle W RV Park in Rockport last Sunday. The people were so nice to us and they were good to sing in front of. We are looking forward to singing at another RV park this coming Sunday when we will be at the Western Horizons RV Park also in Rockport. I have enjoyed helping my friend Josh Bailey learn the saxophone lately. He has taken a very big interest in learning to play the alto sax and my dad and I have been giving him help over the phone. It has been fun and we look forward to playing our saxophones with him in the near future. I hope all of you are staying warm and well.

I wanted to say how much fun I had playing my saxophone with my Dad and our friend Sheriff Mark Gilliam last Sunday, Jan. 13th. We played a sax trio at Salt lake Baptist Church here in Rockport and it went well. The people were so nice to us. I'm excited because we are going to do it all again this coming Sunday at two RV parks in the area. I play the alto sax, my dad plays the soprano sax, and Sheriff Gilliam plays the tenor sax. We've had a great time putting the songs together and I look forward to getting to play with them again soon. Below is a picture of us at Salt Lake Baptist Church.

My Christmas was great and I hope yours was also. I get to see almost all of my family because both sets of my grandparents live in Rockport and Ingleside. I am fortunate to have my grandparents on my Dad's and Mom's side still here with me. They are so nice to me and I appreciate them so much. I got lots of nice things for Christmas and it was fun to see the family members opening our gifts to them also. I guess the most enjoyable part of Christmas for the last several years has been the Christmas Jubilee Concerts we do with The Song Of Glory and The Bailey family. I got to sing several songs this year and I was selected to read the narration from The Bible during each concert this year. We got to go all over South Texas and up to The Hill Country this year. I always have so much fun with my friends Susanna, Nathan, and Josh Bailey. I always miss them when Christmas is over because I don't get to see them every week end.
The Rockport Gospel Music Festival was great again this year. It was my first time to sing on the big stage at the auditorium and though I was nervous it was still lots of fun. All the singers did a great job and I have always enjoyed the festival. I have made many friends there and I look forward to seeing them each year. I'm glad we have such a great festival here in Rockport.

I am getting excited about the upcoming Christmas Jubilee concerts. We already have some concerts scheduled and we have started rehearsing the music with the other groups. That is always so much fun. My dad is writing another arrangement for us to all sing together again. It is always so much fun to get together with our friends in Song Of Glory and The Bailey Family.
We just finished our second six weeks at school and everything went well for me on my report card. I will be auditioning for the all-region band when I return to school after Thanksgiving. I play the saxophone and I will let you know how it goes.
My family just returned from a fun trip to Leakey, TX in our fifth wheel RV. It was a very fun trip. I got to ride my bike in the hills with my Dad and we made a camp fire every night and roasted marsh mellows. We also told some great stories as we sat by the fire. It was so much fun.
The cooler weather has finally arrived and it is starting to feel more like Christmas here in Rockport. I'm excited about that!
I will go for now. I look forward to seeing some of you at one of our singing dates soon. Please be watching our schedule page for our upcoming dates and for the Christmas Jubilee schedule.
